Another month has passed and the next NWS newsletter is waiting for you!

IPv6 Support for the NETWAYS Cloud - LIVE now

IPv6 Support for the NETWAYS Cloud - LIVE now!

I already teased the upcoming IPv6 support in the NETWAYS Cloud in the last newsletter, and this month the time has come - we are live!

The NETWAYS Cloud now speaks IPv6, either in addition to the existing IPv4 configuration or standalone - of course without additional costs, but with more addresses and flexibility for you.

My colleague Justin, who oversaw the migration of our SDN from start to finish, has summarized the innovations, changes and everything else worth knowing in a comprehensive blog post - it’s worth reading.

Relaunch of the NWS docs

Relaunch of the NWS docs

We have also given our documentation a new look. At docs.nws.netways.de you will find helpful resources on first steps, HowTos and troubleshooting guides for our entire portfolio, from the NETWAYS Cloud to our numerous managed services.

We hope that the redesign will provide you with an even better user experience. The foundation for this is a more structured navigation, free text search and plenty of cross-links to quickly switch between related topics.

Since technical documentation is never simply “finished”, I would like to ask you to take 3 minutes to answer 4 questions that will serve as a guide for the further development of the NWS documentation. You will find the link below this paragraph.

Thank you in advance!

Community & Ecosystem

NWS Joins the CNCF

NWS Joins the CNCF

After announcing our membership in the OpenInfra Foundation last month, we are now also a proud member of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation.

The Foundation provides a home and support for projects such as Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Prometheus, Falco and Istio, and as user and contributor to several of these projects and a strong advocate of cloud-native practices, officially joining was the logical next step for us.

As a Silver Member, we are doing our part to ensure that modern infrastructure in the cloud can be operated and developed innovatively, sustainably and securely.

You’ll find a colorful mix in our reading corner this month - from security vulnerabilities at VMware and new limits on DockerHub to the chicken-and-egg problem surrounding Kubernetes’ Cloud Controller Manager, there are a few tidbits here.

CLI Quick Win

Do you often lose files on your hard drive? If you ‘organize’ your repositories, vacation pictures and latest patches as well as I do, fd might be worth a look!

This simple, fast and user-friendly alternative to find is currently making big waves on GitHub, and after some testing I can say: It’s not just because of Rust as a programming language. You can find the repository here.
