Community & Ecosystem

NWS Joins the OpenInfra Foundation

NWS Joins the OpenInfra Foundation

We are delighted to announce that NWS joined the OpenInfra Foundation as a Silver Member to work even more closely with the community and developers of projects such as OpenStack or Kata Containers in the future.

For us at NETWAYS Web Services, open source forms the core of our platform, be it OpenStack as the basis of the NETWAYS Cloud or our numerous open source SaaS offerings.

By joining the OpenInfra Foundation, we are deepening our commitment to open source and freely available software, and hope to enter into even closer dialog with other institutions in the open source cosmos.

Are you interested in a standardized cloud environment powered by OpenStack? Then take a look around the NETWAYS Cloud!

Kubernetes Policies with OPA Gatekeeper

Kubernetes Policies with OPA Gatekeeper

Adapting Kubernetes to your organization’s existing requirements is not always easy. Here and there, builtin features are missing that have to be bridged with third-party software. Fortunately, there are several solutions in the cloud-native cosmos that allow you to develop suitable policies.

One of these is the Open Policy Agent (OPA) and its Kubernetes framework Gatekeeper, which I took a closer look at in our latest blog post. If you want to see Gatekeeper in action, there is also a new, interactive and free playground available on our NWS platform.
