New Pricing Overview for NWS, Fall Events, and GitOps Insights
Welcome to the September issue of the NWS newsletter! The summer break is over at last and we are looking forward to a fall full of features, news, and conferences.
In this newsletter you will find, among other things, insights into GitOps on Kubernetes, free tickets and discounts for conferences where you can meet us over the coming months, and of course the usual insights into the topics that move us besides our own work.
Enjoy reading!
News
New Pricing Page for nws.netways.de
Back in August we completely overhauled the pricing overview on our website: alongside the existing breakdowns of our prices, we now also offer interactive widgets for our Cloud, Kubernetes, and AI portfolio, which will hopefully give you an even better feel for the costs involved.
The configuration you create can also be exported so that you have it right at hand in conversations with us or with your colleagues.

GitOps in Practice: ArgoCD or Flux?
This month I took a look at where and how the two most common GitOps solutions, ArgoCD and Flux, differ, and when each of them shines. If you manage your Kubernetes environments declaratively or plan to do so in the future, our new article offers plenty of insights into aspects of GitOps environments that are worth thinking about.
Events
Meet Us at IT-SA
From October 27 to 29, NETWAYS will once again be present at the IT-SA Expo&Congress in Nuremberg, and of course we at NETWAYS Web Services will be there too. We are already looking forward to three days of exciting conversations about sovereign cloud, privacy-compliant AI, and other topics that keep us and our customers busy.
If you would like to drop by as well, the best thing to do is to get in touch with us via our event page - we still have free tickets to give away.
We Are Celebrating 20 Years of OSMC
After IT-SA in October, November brings the 20th anniversary of the OSMC. Here, too, we are on board as a silver sponsor and, just as we have for the past two decades, we will be talking shop with visitors and speakers about monitoring, observability, and everything that goes with it.
As a sponsor, we can also offer you our promo code NWS15@OSMC_2026, which gets you a 15% discount
on your ticket. And here as well we still have a handful of free tickets to give away. Just get in touch with us!
Reading Corner
This month we were once again out and about in all kinds of corners of the internet for you: from new mount configurations in Kubernetes v1.37 to the use of AI in legacy projects and “different” approaches to using Git, all sorts of things are represented in link list again.
- Daniel is pleased about new, more secure configuration options for mounts in Kubernetes:
Kubernetes v1.37: Hardening Container Storage with Bind Mount Options and EmptyDir Permissions - Sebastian will be ignoring all files in his Git repositories from now on:
.gitignore everything by default - Dominik looked into how AI can be put to use in legacy projects:
Brownfield Agentic Engineering - Joshua was impressed by the evolution from vibe coding to software factories:
Inside a Software Factory
CLI Quick Win
Debugging Without a Shell Using kubectl debug
With kubectl debug -it <pod> --image=<debug-image> --target=<container> you attach an
ephemeral container to an already running pod - without a restart and without touching the original
image.
Via --target you share the process namespace with the target container and can see its processes;
under /proc/1/root you can even reach its file system.
Especially with distroless or scratch images, which deliberately ship without a shell, this is often the
most convenient (and only) way to troubleshoot.
